Faith v2
Findlay Napier — Findlay and Boo's Interesting People
Here’s a only very slightly less dodgy version of Faith featuring a drunken choir of deaf goat herders and a ham fisted electrical guitarist. Less of a blueprint and more of a grey smudge… I’m going to live with it for a week and then replace most of the parts.
… and if you listen carefully at 1:56 the delay and reverb on the voice get turned off.. Oh christ… what’s happened to me?
The Beast in Me… I’m currently obsessing over this majestic little song. Such a strange structure too. It sounds really simple, three verses and a middle 8 but none of the verses are the same. That’s only part of what makes it so uncomfortable.
The digital pioneer and visionary behind virtual reality has turned against the very culture he helped create
“MIDI,” Lanier wrote, of the digitizing program that chops up music into one-zero binaries for transmission, “was conceived from a keyboard player’s point of view…digital patterns that represented keyboard events like ‘key-down’ and ‘key-up.’ That meant it could not describe the curvy, transient expressions a singer or a saxophone note could produce. It could only describe the tile mosaic world of the keyboardist, not the watercolor world of the violin.”
